About the role

Impact Community ACADEMY is seeking an experienced Educational Youth Worker to join our small team. This is a part-time role from 8 am - 4 pm, Monday to Friday during term weeks, with a willingness to work in the school holidays if needed. Impact Community ACADEMY is opening with Year 11 students on April 22 2025, with 2 classes and a maximum of 18 students in each and an Educational Support Officer for each class.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing support inside and outside the classroom to enable students to participate in learning and school activities 
  • Developing and implementing structured wellbeing programs to support students' health  
  • Participating in the development, implementation and review of student plans 
  • Assessing student needs and making referrals to services as needed
  • Supporting the daily provision of meals to students 
  • Maintaining accurate student records and data 
  • Coordinating extra-curricular activities 

What we're looking for

  • Minimum of Certificate IV in Youth Work or equivalent  
  • Proven experienced working with young people in an educational role 
  • Strong understanding of youth development, mental health and wellbeing strategies 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Understanding of trauma informed practices
  • Queensland Drivers' license
  • Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
