Educational Youth Worker

Impact Community ACADEMY is a new, special assistance high school opening for students in Term 2 2025. The Impact Community ACADEMY delivers learning through a wellbeing lens, providing learning that has the potential to challenge mindsets, encourage growth and transform lives in a way that allows young people to be more adaptable and resilient as they enter adulthood. About the role

Impact Community ACADEMY is seeking an experienced Educational Youth Worker to join our small team. This is a part-time role from 8 am - 4 pm, Monday to Friday during term weeks, with a willingness to work in the school holidays if needed. Impact Community ACADEMY is opening with Year 11 students on April 22 2025, with 2 classes and a maximum of 18 students in each and an Educational Support Officer for each class.

What you'll be doing

• Providing support inside and outside the classroom to enable students to participate in learning and school activities 
• Developing and implementing structured wellbeing programs to support students' health  
• Participating in the development, implementation and review of student plans 
• Assessing student needs and making referrals to services as needed
• Supporting the daily provision of meals to students 
• Maintaining accurate student records and data 
• Coordinating extra-curricular activities 

What we're looking for

• Minimum of Certificate IV in Youth Work or equivalent  
• Proven experienced working with young people in an educational role 
• Strong understanding of youth development, mental health and wellbeing strategies 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
• Understanding of trauma informed practices
• Queensland Drivers' license
• Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
