We are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from passionate Generalist Teachers interested in future opportunities with Impact Community ACADEMY. These positions involve teaching responsibilities for Years 10, 11 and 12. As a Generalist Teacher, you will play an essential role in helping young people overcome learning barriers, reconnect with education, and thrive in a supportive, inclusive environment. You will deliver strength-based education aligned with the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and Australian Curriculum F-10 standards. Responsibilities include curriculum development, developing Individual Learning Plans, addressing diverse student needs including autism, ADHD, and mental health challenges, and contributing to a positive atmosphere that prioritises student wellbeing. Collaborating closely with Education Support Officers and Youth Workers, you will support students in building essential skills for life, learning, and livelihood. Please note, this is a workplace-based role and cannot be performed remotely.

Main Duties Responsibilities of these Expectation in the role:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, learner-centred programs tailored to individual needs and curriculum standards.
  • Develop and implement Individual Learning Plans and Student Support Plans to support diverse student needs, including those experiencing disengagement or behavioural challenges.
  • Build positive relationships with students, fostering a nurturing and supportive learning environment.
  • Assess and report on student achievement and progress, adapting practices to ensure compliance with NCCD and QCAA requirements.

Core Competencies (Essential):

  • Experience and/or knowledge of the QCE and Applied syllabuses.
  • Demonstrated competence in the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice, and engagement.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed education and its application in alternative schooling environments.
  • Expertise in supporting disengaged youth, including students at risk or facing challenges such as school refusal.

Desirable 

  • Experience in Project Based Learning and/or Applied Learning Principles
  • Experience teaching across a range of subject areas
