Health & Wellbeing

Last updated on: February 13, 2025

At Impact Community ACADEMY, we are committed to ensuring that health and wellbeing are integrated into every aspect of student life. Our approach is based on the "Wellbeing First" framework from the Queensland Alliance for Mental Health (QAMH), recognising that true progress is measured by mental wellbeing as much as economic success.

Our Wellbeing Philosophy

We believe that students thrive when they have access to holistic, community-driven support systems. Impact Community ACADEMY provides an inclusive environment where young people can develop resilience, confidence, and the skills needed to navigate challenges. We aim to create a space where students feel safe, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Key Wellbeing Supports

  • Individualised Student Support and Learning Plans - Tailored to each student’s needs, ensuring they receive the best guidance for their emotional, social, and academic development.
  • Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Programs - Designed to enhance self-awareness, interpersonal skills, and emotional regulation.
  • Community and Peer Support Opportunities - Encouraging students to build strong, positive relationships that foster belonging and a sense of community.
  • Health and Wellbeing Workshops - Covering topics such as nutrition, mindfulness, stress management, and self-care to equip students with essential life skills.
  • Key Stakeholder Engagement - Providing students with a regular platform that fosters collaboration and allows them to express their opinions, concerns, and suggestions about their learning journey.
  • Trauma-Informed Practices - Recognising the impact of past experiences and ensuring a supportive, non-judgmental learning environment.

Students facing challenges related to mental health, anxiety, stress, or personal issues can be connected with supports through IMPACT Community Services, including Youth Workers, Family and Youth Support, and Mental Health Services.

Our Commitment to Wellbeing

Impact Community ACADEMY actively works with parents, carers, community organisations, and healthcare professionals to provide a wraparound support system for students. Our mission is to empower young people by ensuring they have the emotional and mental wellbeing support they need to thrive academically, socially, and personally.
