Last week, we officially welcomed our inaugural students to Impact Community ACADEMY! This moment has been a long time coming and marks the beginning of an incredible journey for our school community.

During their first week, students had the opportunity to explore their new environment, meet their teachers, and begin building the connections that will carry them through their time here. This week, we’re thrilled to announce that classes are now in full swing!

Nicole has over 20 years of teaching experience across diverse school settings and has held a range of leadership roles. She holds a Bachelor of Education (Secondary), a Graduate Certificate in Religious Studies, and multiple coaching certifications. Nicole is committed to fostering student success and empowering strong leadership within our school community.

Steve brings a wealth of experience in secondary education, having taught English, Literacy Studies, Humanities, PE, and IT. He holds a Bachelor of Education (Secondary), a Postgraduate Certificate in Mental Health and Education, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Steve is deeply passionate about student learning and wellbeing, and we’re thrilled to have him on board.

Kalah has over 15 years' experience in administration and working with young people across a variety of settings and industries. She has achieved a Bachelor of Social Science (Social Justice and International Relations) and holds several certificates related to trauma and supporting vulnerable people. Kalah is passionate about supporting Impact ACADEMY to achieve positive outcomes for all and is excited to see all our young people become the best version of themselves.

We’re really excited to share that we’ve now finalised our curriculum and approach to teaching and learning here at Impact ACADEMY!

At the heart of our approach is integration - we’re blending core subjects like Maths and English into real-world projects. This helps make learning more meaningful, relatable, and easier for students to understand.

We also offer Social and Community Studies blended into our Sport and Rec or Tourism electives, which focus on building connections beyond the classroom and engaging with the wider community in authentic ways.

And perhaps one of the most exciting aspects of our model: one day each week is 100% personalised to each student’s individual needs, goals, and interests.

We’re proud to offer a learning experience that values curiosity, connection, and real-world relevance while also meeting the demands of a QCE.
